I thought I’d put up a little update today to give some of our loyal readers a quick peek at how we actually work on this site. Here’s a picture of the spreadsheet we use to sort though the SNES games and decide which one get to keep their Seals of Quality:
The blue column is games we like, the yellow column is games we need to spend more time with to form an opinion, and the red column is games that are absolutely going to have their seals revoked. Next to each title is any notes we may have on each one – observations, ideas for things to write about, whatever. Oh, and the white column is games we haven’t gotten to yet.
Although it’s not in the picture, there are a LOT of games in the white column, because playing through an entire console’s library is lengthy work. Soul crushing, too – you can Super Metroid and Contra III at me all you want, but 50% of these games are absolutely horrendous, while another 25% are merely bad.
By the way, if you see any of your favorites in the red column, this is your chance to try to make a case for them and change our minds.
